The Church of the Transfiguration is situated in the diocese of Westminster and the Brent deanery.
The church was originally built as a Presbyterian church and later a Methodist church.
After a fire, the Methodist community left the church and moved into what was their hall.
The diocese acquired the church in 1977 and the parish of Kensal Rise moved from St. Jude's, Harrow Road, to the more central location on Chamberlayne Road.
Fr William Dempsey, with the help of parishioners, transformed the old Methodist church into a thriving Catholic community.
After over 20 years as parish priest, Fr Dempsey retired and was succeeded by Fr Kevin McDevitt who continued Fr Dempsey's legacy.
In September 2003, Fr Sean Thornton succeeded Fr McDevitt as parish priest.
In September 2021, Fr John Tabor succeeded Fr Sean as parish priest.
In December 2021, Monsignor Roger Reader succeeded Fr John as parish priest, and Fr Allan Alvarado Gil joined us as assistant priest.
